wmp.dll errors
Error 1
"Every time I try to open up
Windows Media Player, the same message pops up, reads as
follows:
"The file wmp.dll has a version number of 9.0.0.3075
where 9.0.0.2980 was expected. Windows Media Player is
not installed properly and must be reinstalled."
However, reinstalling Windows Media Player does nothing;
I receive the same message when I try to open it up
again."
Now while the version numbers may
change.... If you get this error message
on your computer, it is very easy to rectify the problem!
Simply go to the Start Menu and select Run
In the small box that opens up type in the following:
c:\windows\inf\unregmp2.exe /UpdateWMP
This should now clear up the "confusion" your computer was
having with
version numbers of Windows Media Player.
Error 2
Another less common WMP.DLL error message I have come across is:
"Every time I try to start a video, a message comes up
with "explorer has caused a problem in wmp.dll"
To rectify this issue you can re-register the wmp.dll file on
your computer. To do this go to the Start Menu and select
Run.
In the small box that opens up type in the following:
regsvr32 wmp.dll
