Spyware Blaster
Basics In this tutorial you will learn about Spyware
Blaster. You can find Spyware Blaster here. Spyware Blaster prevents spyware and
unwanted cookies, restricts actions of different sites, prevents active X,
broswer hijacking, and much much more. Spyware Blaster PREVENTS spyware from
being installed and does not scan your computer for spyware. Open the file and
it will start downloading onto your computer. This will start the setup of
Spyware Blaster.
Press "Next" to agree you want to install Spyware Blaster. After you
have done that, read the EULA and if you agree with its terms then press "I
accept the agreement" and press "next"
Next it will list information about Spyware Blaster. Look through it
and press "Next". .
Now it will ask you where you want to download the program. I
suggest the spot it says. Though, if you want to change it, you can do this by
pressing "Browse" and selecting your specific area.

Another box will pop up asking if you want to put a shortcut of
Spyware Blaster on your desktop. You may choose yes or no by selecting or not
selecting the box. ".
The next screen will just show
you what you Spyware Blaster is going to install on your computer. After you
have done this press "Install".".

Then, it will start installing in the suggested location you put it
in. The next box will ask if you want to Run Spyware Blaster. Put a check in the
box next to it and press "Finish".
This will start up Spyware
Blaster and another box will pop up with your first start of Spyware Blaster.
Choose "Enable All Protection" and press "Next".
Then another box will replace
that asking, how you want to update. This tells you that you are updating
manually at the moment, but you can change it by going to the "Updates" tab and
pressing "Autoupdate" in the top right hand corner. After that a new box will
replace that and just answer "Finish". Spyware Blaster will then come up on your
screen. This shows you what is disabled and what is not disabled.
Click the "Updates" tab on the bottom left. Then press "Check for
Updates" and it will start to download your updates for you.

After you have done that go to
your main screen again and click on "Enable All Protection". After doing this it
will enable your Internet Explorer Protection which prevents the installation of
spyware, browser hijackers, dialers, and etc. This also prevents tracking
cookies and spyware. Under the Restricted sites tab, it will restrict of the
actions of spyware, adaware, and tracking sites in the Internet Explorer.
**If you have Mozilla, it will prevent spyware and tracking cookies
under the Mozilla/Firefox tab. Do not worry about this setting then if you do
not have Mozzilla/Firefox. There you go, the basics of Spyware Blaster.
System Snapshot
SpywareBlaster has the
ability to take a snapshot, or backup, of
certain settings in your browser and your
registry. These settings will saved in a
database that is stored in your
SpywareBlaster directory. If in the future
you make a mistake on a setting in your
browser, or things start acting strange,
possibly due to Spyware/Hijackers, you can
restore from this backup.
The first step is to click
on the System Snapshot button on the left.
If this is your first time using it, you
will want to create a snapshot of your
system. You should select the radio button
that is labeled "Create new System Snapshot"
and press the Go button. Give the snap shot
a name that you will remember and make sure
the "Append date + time..." checkbox is
check marked. I usually use a name like
Snapshot. When this is done, press the
"Create Snapshot" button to continue.
SpywareBlaster will then save settings from
your computer in a database on your
computer. When it is done you can press the
Finish button.

If in the future you want to
restore from this backup, you can choose the
System Snapshot section and then select the
radio button for "Restore System to Saved
Snapshot Point" and press the Go button. You
should click once on a snapshot to select it
and then press the Next button. If there
were any changes from your current settings
to the ones saved in the snap shot you
specified, it will notify you and give you
the option to restore them, otherwise it
will tell you there was no difference in
your current settings to the ones in the
snapshot
