Help and support stop responding ?

Help and support using high cpu usage ?

Help and support using 100% cpu ?

Does your system experience one of the above mentioned symptoms ? You're not alone. Its quite common in fact and so common the Microsoft issued a fix in Service Pack 2.

Therefore, before moving anywhere:

1. Visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
2. Click Express Install (Recommended).
3. If your computer qualifies, Windows XP SP2 will be one of the updates automatically selected. Click Install.
4. Review and accept the End User License Agreement (EULA).
Windows XP SP2 will be downloaded to your computer, and the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Setup Wizard will help you install it.

Make certain to reboot when completed.

Note: If you are having too much difficulty getting anywhere with a fix due to the cpu usage being so high then you need to disable the service.

Click start / run and type services.msc

When the window populates, scroll down to Help and Support, double click on it and then select "disable" in the dropdown menu as well as "Stop".

Now Retry.
